1. Where can I find the subtitles?

    • For movies or dramas that have been noted to be "hard-subbed", this means that the subtitles are already hardcoded/included within the video file. There is no need for a separate subtitle file in order for the subtitles to show when you play the file.
    • For movies or dramas that are not "hard-subbed", this means that the subtitles will come in a separate file(s) in order for the video file to show subtitles when played. Please note that these subtitle files may come in a variety of forms, including .srt (most common), .idx, .sub and .ass.
    • To make sure that the subtitles shows in your player, You need to make sure that both files (the video file and the subtitle files) are in the SAME folder with the SAME Filename. For e.g. To watch MovieFile1.avi, you must ensure the subtitle file has the filename MovieFile1.srt and both files are in the same director

    2. Why am I not able to open/watch the movie?

    • If you are unable to watch a movie file, we recommend VLCplayer as it can play virtually every movie file type except the notable example of a Real Media file (.rmvb).
    • For Real Media movie files (.rmvb), we recommend Real Alternative as it is a more compact player compared to Real Player and provides the same means to an end.
    • If the movie file is playing in the player of your choice, but there is no video, sound or simply does not open, it could be due to a number of reasons. See question 6 for possible reasons/solutions

    3. Why are the subtitles not in English?

    • Assuming you have the correct subtitle file, you may still need to select the right subtitle language to be used.
    • Using the VLCplayer, right click on the screen, select Video->Subtitle->Englis

    4. The subtitles are out of sync

    • You may be using the wrong subtitle file with the movie file you have. This error can often happen for fan-subbed movies or dramas. Check again to ensure you are using the right subtitle file.
    • You can re-time the subtitle if you are using Media Player Classic, by increasing or decreasing the time delay depending on whether the subtitles are appearing faster or slower.
    • If all else fails, please leave me a message or comment indicating the title that has this problem and we will attempt to correct it by retiming the subtitles

    5. MegaUpload related issues/error message

    • To solve most, if not all, errors normally encountered with MegaUpload, the best solution would be to sign up with a premium account. Also, using the Mega Manager tool will also faciliate seamless downloading if you encounter interrupts or broken downloads. Download Mega  Here.

    • These are some of the common errors encounterd by MegaUpload as listed on their site.

      • All download slots assigned to your country are in use.
        • Megaupload limits free users (AKA non-premium members) in some countries so if you get this message, you unfortunately live in one of those countrie

      • Download limit exceeded.
        • You are limited in the number of bytes you can download each day. However if you are wondering why you get this even though you did not have downloaded anything yet, then you might be using a dynamic IP in short a shared IP within your ISP and others have already downloaded content from Megaupload. Do remember Megaupload monitors downloads via IP.
        • Things you can do.

      • The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable.
        • As the message stated it is indeed temporary the file is still in the Megaupload server. However for whatever reason it is not available might be because of high traffic, maintenance, too many people downloading the file, and etc. it may take from few minutes to few hours before it becomes available again. But rest assured that the file will be available. It is a waste of time to reupload files that will eventually be available, So do not bother to request it.
        • Install MegaManager, sometimes even if the links are unavailable in the browser you can still download using the megamanager program [sometimes].  Download it here.
        • PS: Even premium members get this message at times.
      • This file has expired due to inactivity.
        • The file wasn’t downloaded in the last 90 days, and was therefore removed from MegaUpload’s servers. If you get this message, please inform us.
      • Unfortunately, the link you have clicked is not available.
        • The file no longer exists on MegaUpload’s servers. If you get this message, please inform us.

     6. Why is the downloaded video file not playing properly? No video/No Sound/ Does not open

    • No Video / No Sound.
This is normally caused by a missing codec. Download the K-lite code pack. Use the latest pack to ensure the codecs are updated and you have them.

    • Unplayable video file / buffering video and / or incomplete download
If your movie file is unplayable, buffers or cannot be fast-forwarded or rewinded, it is highly possible that the file did not download completely or it may have been corrupted. Check the file sizes stated to ensure you have the right file and if not, repeat the download process.

    7. Can you please upload the rest of the subtitle for :NAME OF DRAMA: ?

    • The subtitles for dramas are not within our control, as AsianCinematic.com does not do subbing of dramas. Once the subtitles are released by fan subbing groups, they will be made available accordingly. So we request your understanding and patience - if they are available, you will be able to find them on AsianCinematic.com! Otherwise, please wait.

    8. Opening files with .001, .002, etc endings?

    • Download HJSplit.
    • Download both files, part 1 and part 2 (or the complete list of parts). Please do not rename the files.
    • Start HJSplit. Select the file ending with (.001) extension and then click "Join" to merge all the individual files into the complete movie file.
    • A new video file is created, either (.avi or .mkv) open that with your media player of choice.

    9. Why are there files with .flv endings?

    • These are our own early webrips of shows, due to our own love for the drama series (usually Japanese). They are usually out before the proper rips which we will followup with accordingly, but since we ourselves want to watch the shows as soon as possible, we believe there are others who also have the same desire. The webrips may not be of the same high quality as proper rips released later, but they are entirely watchable and fans who just want to watch the shows as soon as possible will enjoy them.
    • The .flv files can be played using VLC media player.
